Hi Subscriber Name.
LAST WEEK - It started out with a forecast of rain and we came prepared but it turned out to be lovely day afterall and our tribute to strawberries was a big hit. Some Vendors provided rainy day specials and/or strawberry highlights. We had choices of freshly picked strawberries as well as strawberry crafts and strawberry flavored cookies, churros, lemonade, donuts, turnovers, jam, fudge, mead, shishkaberries, shaved ice, etc…. Which was your favorite?
Special thanks to our Master Gardener, Susan Haas and her team. They had constant traffic and answers for everyone’s gardening challenges. We look forward to their next visit on July 10th.
Under the Big Tent, Brooke and her guest Tyler were easy listening. We loved the unique mash ups of our favorite songs and that they took requests. Brooke is a market favorite who returns later in the season as a princess.
THIS WEEK JULY 3rd - IT IS ALL ABOUT FIRST RESPONDERS! The Market’s First Responder Appreciation Day is sponsored by The Stand “Shaken not Stirred.” Today we celebrate and honor the men and women who have chosen to be Firefighters, Police, Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) and Dispatchers who serve our community. We appreciate and admire the dedication and the courage it takes to do such a difficult and sometimes dangerous job. An invitation open to Firefighters, Police, EMTs and Dispatchers in uniform or with badge / id, during the July 3rd Market, please stop by The Stand “Shaken not Stirred” for your complementary cup of freshly squeezed lemonade. We thank First Responders for their service and for keeping our community safe. You are heroes!
UNDER THE BIG TENT - Enjoy the shade while you listen and sing along to Sean Coleman’s music. KIDS TENT - Supplies are made available to make & take a craft. Watch for the Firetruck that will join us (if they are not out on an emergency). DEMO TENT - During emergencies, it’s important for children to understand there are caring adults who will help keep them safe. Please stop by our Demo Tent to write a note of thanks that we will deliver after the market and be sure to ask questions to learn more about their jobs and say thank you to first responders you see at the market. MARKET MANAGERS TENT - Find out more about our Market, ask questions, discover how you can volunteer, and redeem your SNAP benefits. Let us know what you’d like to see at our market! We want to hear from you. COMMUNITY PARTNERS TENTS - The Wilmington Animal Food Pantry and The Billerica Public Library will be onsite to tell you all about their programs. TAKE PICTURES - We enjoyed your posts from last week. Keep it up! Please take and share pictures of your experience at the market on our Facebook Group.

Vendor Spotlight: The Stand ‘Shaken not Stirred
|
How long have they been in business? Greg and Catherine Urganiak are owners of The Stand “Shaken not Stirred” and are going on 4 years in this business.
What got you into the business? We got into Lemonade because we were looking for another food concession business that complemented our current one (totally Nutz). We looked long and hard to find something that would be great during the summer and there’s nothing better than freshly squeezed Lemonade on a hot Summer day.
Fun fact/recipe to share? Lemonade can trace its origins to the Egyptians when in 500 AD lemon juice was mixed with sugar to make a beverage known as qatarmizat. How can they be contacted? Facebook Instagram
Stop by and visit them at the Billerica Community Farmers Market!
